The uncut version of my love:

It first happened at the conservatory of a regional capital in North Western France. I was six and it was with a piano. It didn’t last long, but we all grow and develop and I am no exception.
I was fifteen when I realised that there is more to life. At the time, “more” meant: chewing gum, wristbands and boys. After listening to New Order’s Substance and Loveless by My Bloody Valentine (two albums that are emblematic of my emotional life at the time), I did what I had to do. I ended my affair with classical music* and joined a band. I played the bass and started singing “ethereal melodies”.

With my coming of age came my first keyboard and a move to Amsterdam. I studied voice and music production at the Rotterdams conservatory. It was with the boys from Le Clic that I had my first gigs at the Melkweg and the Paradiso. At the same time, I would always work on my own stuff at Laboratoires Leece, eventually leading to my first solo tour at the ‘Feria de Musica’ in – Fortaleza, Brazil. Ever since, I’ve been fortunate to play regularly also a little closer to home (not that I mind travelling), at a variety of venues and festivals in and around Amsterdam (Paradiso, Sugary Factory, Queens Night Twistd stage, Over het Ij Festival 2006, Droom Festival 2006, Pickup Festival 2006).
After Amsterdam came Berlin (“Wer A sagt, muss auch B sagen” as the Germans like to say), gigs around town (Lovelite, White Trash), one year film music studies at the HFF in Potsdam, a tour of Italy and the final production of my first album that, as the phrase goes, I’m giving the finishing touch in Berlin. To complete the ABC came China where i am playing for 4 months.

What is this love about? My music is a collection of experiments in sounds and emotions over the past ten years. – so lots of clicks and cuts and broken hearted melodies. It’s about flirtations with minimal house. It’s about glitchiness, quirkiness, sexiness. It’s about working with sound texture – sculpting sounds from water drops and corn flake crunches and turning them into something that has been described as “visceral, funky and explosive, oscillating between deep emotion and light-hearted humour, both musically and lyrically,” Well – yes… and it’s about the crowd spontaneously singing along to “No Boyfriend Material”. That’s what it’s all about.

*(but we have been best friends since)
