As a big fan of Robert Owens, I am pleased to put my spin on another one of Mr. Owens' tracks. Of course...one of my all time favorite tracks (to remix and listen to) is Coldcut's 'Walk A Mile' feat. Robert Owens. And this is another slice of heaven. The original is nice, but not his best work (in my opinion-see his 'Rhythms In Me' album or his work with Charles Webster, Coldcut or Photek for that). Still it is a good song and I Loved the melodies in the Synth Keys and it mixed well with the Electric Bass. I wanted my mix to have a melodic sound to it, but still have an upbeat vibe. The Street Drums worked well for that! The lyrics speak to almost everybody about misused love. At one point (I believe it was Chorus 2) I wanted to emphasize the vocals so I dropped most everything so that the words would be heard. Sometimes you just have to stop the beat to get the true soul and feeling of the song. I am very happy with the end result. I hope you like my 'spin' as well.
