„Hip hop and beyond“ is the best way to describe the nightly DJ escapades of SEPALOT – a player known for taking his crowd on a journey from hiphop and rare grooves to break beats and electro music. Being an in demand DJ he gets bookings in the capitals all over the world like Johannesburg, Sydney to Moscow but also keeps spinning records as a resident DJ in his hometown Munich.
As band member and producer of the notorious German hiphop crew BLUMENTOPF he released two top ten albums and two top twenty albums which moved more than 300.000 units. Numerous sold out tours which took the group to places like Beirut, Aman, Cairo or Alexandria demonstrate that Sepalots skills go way further than only beatmaking.
After various remixes and soundtrack projects, releases in Lebanon, Austria, Switzerland and Holland, Sepalot is currently working on his first solo album “Red Handed” which will be released in 2008 on Compost Records. On this Album, be ready to enjoy Sepalots trademark beats and his choice of international top features like Frank’n’Dank, Blu, Miss Platnum, Olivier Day Soul and Ladi6 (of Fat Freddys Drop fame).
This teasing 12” single features the unresistable party anthem “She Likes Me” with lyrics by Detroits Frank Nitty (one half of J.Dilla protégées Frank N Dank). The B-side comes along with a rougher edge, keeping it strictly street. “Surrender” is blessed with the lyrical gift of L.A. underground spitter Blu who debuted in 2007 with his acclaimed long player “Below The Heavens”.
